TN school headmaster arrested for sexually harassing nine girl students
TUTICORIN: The Kovilpatti all-woman police in Tamil Nadu on Saturday arrested the headmaster of a government aided primary school for sexually harassing nine girl students for the last three months.
The incident came to light when a parent of girl lodged a complaint with the Kovilpatti AWPS on Friday.
The headmaster, A Thomas Samuel, 57, was booked under sections 7 (non-penetrative sexual assault by touching the private parts of a child or making the child to do the same to the perpetrator), 8 (punishment for sexual assault), 9(m) (sexual assault on a child below the age of 12 years), 10 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault), 11(iii) (shows any object to a child in any form or media for pornographic purposes) and 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The man, hailing from Chinnakollapatti village near Sattur in Virudhunagar district, is the headmaster of a government-aided primary school run by a church in a village in Tuticorin district. Following the complaint lodged by a parent, the police conducted an inquiry and came to know that he had sexually harassed nine children studying in Class V.
He was remanded in judicial custody.
